PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

George Reilly is a native of Darien, Connecticut. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Union College in 1977 and his J.D. from Fordham Law School in 1984. He is admitted to practice law in federal and state courts in Connecticut and New York and the U.S. Supreme Court.

George ReillyMr. Reilly has maintained his law practice in Darien throughout his legal career. His practice has been oriented to serving individuals rather than businesses. He has focused on family law, residential real estate, estate planning, and civil litigation for his clients, but in his sixteen year practice he has provided counsel in a wide array of issues. Mr. Reilly has provided advice and representation for his clients in business entity formations, acquisitions and sales, zoning, criminal matters, bankruptcies, commercial real estate, residential construction and more.

In 2002, Mr. Reilly became a partner in the lawfirm of Rucci, Burnham, Carta & Edelberg, LLP in Darien. Also in his career, Mr. Reilly practiced with Jackson & Nash in New York City from 1987 through 1990, although he maintained an office in Darien as well. With Jackson & Nash, Mr. Reilly was engaged in professional liability defense litigation representing attorneys, accountants, a psychologist, and a nurse.

Throughout his career, Mr. Reilly has been active in community service. From 1985 through 1987, he served the Darien United Way including chairmanship of the annual United Way campaign. From 1987 through 1998, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of King & Low-Heywood Thomas School including seven years as its president. In 1998 and 1999, Mr. Reilly was a member of Darien's Charter Revision Commission, and in 1999 he was elected a member of the Darien Board of Selectmen.

Mr. Reilly is a member of the Regional Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and American Bar Association (and a member of the Family Law section of each). From 1992 through 1995, Mr. Reilly was co-chair of the Litigation Committee of the Regional Bar Association.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Reilly was the manager of public affairs for Collins & Aikman Corporation, at the time a Fortune 500 specialty textile company, and he was responsible for the corporation's government relations in Washington and various state capitals. He also organized and administered the corporation's political action committees. During law school, Mr. Reilly worked in the litigation department of the New York City Human Resources Administration expediting the city's responses to crises in homelessness, child abuse and adults endangering themselves.

Mr. Reilly is married with three children.
